Add a teaspoon to a cup of hot frothed milk for a perfect Golden Ginger Latte for morning or afternoon tea. Or, add it to your coffee for an extra ginger kick.
What's in the Ginger Latte Mix?
Ginger has been traditionally used to help digestion, treat morning sickness, nausea and help fight the flu and common cold. It contains a bioactive compound called gingerol, a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant which helps relieve muscle pain and swelling, assists detoxification, and boost immune system. Several lab studies have also shown how active phytonutrients in ginger inhibit and kill cancer cells.
Turmeric is a sister plant to ginger. It contains curcumin, the chemical compound responsible for that bright hue, also a known powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent which has been shown by studies to treat stomach ulcers and arthritis as well as help combat cancer cells, and support healthy kidney function.
Not only that it is one of the most delicious spices, cinnamon also comes with high anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds which protect the body from oxidative damage cause by free radicals. It helps repair tissue damage, help lower blood sugar levels and help our body fights infection.
Coconut sugar is used in our spice blend because it's unrefined, and therefore retains all of its natural minerals and vitamins. It has a low glycemic index (GI) of 35 (compare to regular sugar which has GI of 65) and it imparts a delicious caramel, butterscotch flavour which we love.
